NIFT-TEA’s Apparel Fashion Designing Department Holds Interactive Session with Parents

The Department of Apparel Fashion Designing at NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion, Tiruppur, hosted an Interactive Session with Parents on October 25, 2025, marking another milestone in the institution’s efforts to promote open communication between parents, students, and faculty. With an active participation of over 60 parents, the session focused on fostering holistic growth and value-based learning among fashion design students.

The event featured Mr Jayachandran, Senior Creative Design Head, India, Fashion UK Buying Office, as the guest speaker. His inspiring talk reminded parents of their powerful influence in shaping students’ values and aspirations. He emphasised that success is not an overnight phenomenon but the result of consistent effort, perseverance, and patience. Highlighting the need for balance in personal and professional life, he urged parents to help their children cultivate spiritual awareness and empathy, noting that children learn more from observation than instruction.

Parents’ Voices and Reflections

The interactive nature of the session encouraged parents to share their experiences and thoughts:

  • Several parents expressed that students should have the freedom to pursue their interests and career passions without pressure.
  • One parent shared how their child thrives in NIFT-TEA’s creative learning environment, appreciating the faculty’s efforts in nurturing innovation.
  • Another parent highlighted her daughter’s transformation in confidence and artistic ability, crediting the college’s supportive atmosphere and dedicated mentorship.

Leadership Insights and Institutional Vision

Academic Chairman Mr R. Mohan Kumar and Admission Chairman Mr N. Sreedhar addressed the gathering, drawing an interesting parallel between education and the Power of Compounding. They explained how small, consistent efforts, whether in learning or teaching, lead to exponential growth over time, both for individuals and the institution.

Dean Dr V. R. Sampath expressed gratitude for the parents’ engagement, reaffirming NIFT-TEA’s commitment to nurturing creativity, discipline, and excellence. He emphasised how the college’s unique positioning among Arts and Science institutions enables it to deliver specialised, industry-oriented education.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Principal Dr P. P. Gopalakrishnan, who acknowledged the collective role of parents, alumni, and educators in shaping the future of young designers.

A Shared Vision for Growth

The event wrapped up on a positive and collaborative note, celebrating the partnership between the institution and families in guiding students toward meaningful success. The interactive session stood as a reminder that behind every confident, creative student is a supportive network of mentors and parents, the foundation upon which NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion continues to build its legacy of excellence.
