The Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) will host the AEPC Excellence Honours 2023–24–25 on 20 December 2025 at ITC Maurya, New Delhi. The prestigious event will be graced by Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Vice President of India, who will attend as the Chief Guest and address the gathering.

Instituted by AEPC, the Excellence Honours recognise the outstanding contributions of Indian apparel exporters who have played a defining role in building globally competitive export enterprises. The awards celebrate leadership that goes beyond volumes and value, acknowledging exporters who have strengthened India’s export culture through quality, innovation, sustainability, compliance and market diversification.

The ceremony will also mark the unveiling of AEPC’s coffee table book, “Threads of Time: Story of India’s Textile.” The publication traces India’s rich and diverse textile heritage while documenting its evolution from traditional craftsmanship to a modern, globally integrated industry. The book highlights how Indian textiles have retained their cultural roots while adapting to contemporary technologies, global standards and international markets.

Speaking on the significance of the occasion, Shri Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman, AEPC, said that the Excellence Honours pay tribute to pioneering exporters who have shaped India’s apparel export journey with courage, creativity and long-term commitment. He noted that these exporters have not only built successful businesses but have also fostered a culture of quality, compliance and sustainability across the industry. According to him, the awards are designed to inspire the apparel sector to scale new heights in an increasingly competitive global marketplace, while positioning award winners as role models for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Shri Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General, AEPC, highlighted the importance of recognising and encouraging exporters who are investing in the future. He stated that by embracing new technologies, advanced design capabilities and modern manufacturing practices, Indian apparel exporters have significantly strengthened the country’s global competitiveness. He also underlined the industry’s steady transition towards sustainability, noting that greener supply chains, ethical sourcing practices and efforts to reduce environmental impact are reinforcing a responsible and globally respected Brand India.

The AEPC Excellence Honours are expected to bring together leading exporters, policymakers, buyers and other key stakeholders from across the apparel ecosystem. The platform will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the industry’s progress, celebrate excellence and reaffirm India’s growing leadership in the global apparel value chain.

At a time when global markets are undergoing rapid shifts, the Excellence Honours underscore the resilience, adaptability and forward-looking vision of India’s apparel exporters. By recognising enterprises that combine commercial success with responsible practices, AEPC continues to set benchmarks for sustainable growth and global relevance in the apparel sector.
