India signed a Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), which includes Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. According to the agreement, the EFTA countries have committed to investing $100 billion in India. However, the timeline for this investment has not yet been specified.
“The investment promise from EFTA nations is a big opportunity for pharma, medical devices, and food sectors,” said India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi.
On this occasion, Dr A.Sakthivel, a Member of the Board of Trade also spoke and he thanked and congratulated Hon’ble Commerce & Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal. He said that with this significant signing of the Trade Agreement more modernization will happen in all sectors, especially in Textiles and this is a win-win situation for India and these countries. Followed by this Agreement Free trade between India and Switzerland/Norway will emerge soon.
