New Delhi, February 16, 2025: Bharat Tex 2025, one of India’s largest and most prestigious textile exhibitions, is currently underway at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from February 14 to 17, 2025. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi interacted with Padma Shri Dr. A. Sakthivel, Honorary Chairman of the Tiruppur Exporters’ Association (TEA). Dr. Sakthivel provided insights into how Tiruppur—widely regarded as the Knitwear Capital of India—has become a frontrunner in sustainable manufacturing.

He highlighted the region’s pioneering adoption of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, which have positioned Tiruppur as one of India’s first ESG-compliant textile clusters.
