A delegation of over 60 senior secondary students from Sobha Academy, Vadakkenchery, Palakkad District, Kerala, recently visited our campus to delve into the world of textiles. This inspiring visit marked a valuable exchange of knowledge, showcasing opportunities in advanced textile studies and the industry at large.
During the visit, students participated in interactive sessions led by our expert faculty members, covering diverse topics such as:
- Fiber Science and Technology: Exploring the fundamentals of textile fibres and their applications.
- Textile Design and Manufacturing Processes: Gaining insights into the art and mechanics of creating textiles.
- Textile Testing and Quality Control: Understanding how quality standards are achieved in the industry.
- Garment Technology: Learning the intricacies of garment production and innovation.
In addition to academic discussions, the students embarked on an educational field trip to SRG Apparel at Netaji Apparel Park, Tirupur. This visit offered a hands-on experience, allowing them to:
- Observe the complete textile manufacturing process, from yarn preparation to the packaging of finished garments.
- Understand the challenges and opportunities in the knitwear sector.
- Acquire insights into industry standards, production techniques, and quality control practices.
