73rd Edition of India International Garment Fair

A Celebration of Creativity, Craftsmanship, and Confidence

The 73rd Edition of the India International Garment Fair (IIGF) was inaugurated by Shri Pabitra Margherita, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs, Government of India, on July 1, 2025, in New Delhi. The fair, which is Asia’s largest and most dynamic garment fair, showcased the latest apparel trends, technological advancements, and sustainable manufacturing practices.

The fair featured 361 exporters showcasing across 9,375 sq. mtrs, with participation from 12 states across India. The total number of countries represented in the 73rd IIGF was 79, with global brands and retail chain participation in large numbers. Some of the prominent participating companies included Apparel Group, Western International Group, Lulu Group International (UAE), One Brand Apparel, POL CLOTHING, INC. (USA), and Debenhams Group (UK).

Key Highlights of the Fair

The fair focused on showcasing the latest apparel trends tailored to meet the requirements of the European Union, USA, and other Western markets. A large number of exhibitors showcased sustainable manufacturing practices, highlighting India’s commitment to innovation and responsible production. The fair also provided a platform for MSMEs to enter and grow in international markets, while showcasing the latest fashion collections to a global audience.

Delivering his inaugural address, Shri Margherita said, “The 73rd edition of the India International Garment Fair is a celebration of the creativity, craftsmanship, and confidence of Indians. This fair is not just a showcase of fabrics and fashion; it is a testament to India’s growing global trust in Indian textiles.” He further underlined the government’s focus on expanding India’s global footprint in textiles and apparel, aiming to cross $100 billion in textile exports by 2030.

Shri Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman AEPC and IGFA, said, “IIGF will provide a strong platform for the Indian apparel exporters to capitalise on India’s momentum for growth. With the right policy push, innovation, and global partnerships, this could be the decade where India emerges not just as a volume player, but a value-added global garment exports powerhouse.” He also highlighted the industry’s progress, with a cumulative growth of 12.8% in apparel exports for the period April-May 2025-26

The Minister highlighted the importance of boosting productivity, ensuring steady raw material supply, and reducing import dependence to stay competitive. He also underlined the potential of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement and ongoing negotiations with the EU and the US to open new avenues for growth.

The 73rd edition of IIGF was a resounding success, showcasing India’s prowess in design, pattern, and technological advancements. The fair provided a platform for industry growth, buyer connections, and exposure to the latest fashion trends. With India’s textile sector poised for growth, the IIGF is set to play a crucial role in driving the industry’s progress.
