Italy is set to make a powerful statement at ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025, reaffirming its leadership in textile machinery innovation and sustainability. From October 28 to 31, over 100 Italian companies will exhibit their latest technologies across an expansive 4,000 square meter area, positioning Italy among the top exhibiting nations at the show, just as it has in previous editions.
A total of 53 exhibitors will participate under the National Sector Groups organised by ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers) in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA). Together, they will highlight the strength, creativity, and precision that define the “Made in Italy” label in textile machinery manufacturing.
A Strategic Platform for Global Textile Technology
ITMA ASIA + CITME has long been recognised as the most influential platform for textile machinery manufacturers, particularly in Asia, which accounts for nearly half of global textile machinery exports, valued at approximately 8.8 billion euros in 2024. The two largest importers, China and India, together brought in machinery worth 4.3 billion euros, underscoring the region’s dominant position in global textile production.
For Italian manufacturers, Asia remains the most crucial export destination. In 2024, Italian exports to Asian markets reached 664 million euros, and in the first half of 2025 alone, they registered a steady 1% growth compared to the same period in 2024, achieving a value of 317 million euros. The key destinations include China, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, where Italian machinery continues to be valued for its technological sophistication, reliability, and sustainability focus.
Strengthening Ties with Emerging Hubs
According to ACIMIT President Marco Salvadè, ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore represents an ideal stage for Italian companies to strengthen their engagement with emerging Southeast Asian markets. “The choice of Singapore allows Italian exhibitors to connect with manufacturing hubs that are becoming increasingly important in the global textile value chain,” said Salvadè.
He further emphasised that, despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, the strong participation of Italian manufacturers reflects the sector’s vitality and forward-looking approach. At the exhibition, Italian companies will present a comprehensive range of solutions covering the entire textile production process—from spinning and weaving to dyeing, finishing, and automation.
Innovation Meets Sustainability
Visitors to the Italian pavilion can expect to see some of the most advanced solutions in digitalisation, automation, and sustainable production. These include smart systems that enhance process efficiency and connectivity, automated tools that streamline workflow, and new-generation machinery designed to minimise environmental impact.
A major highlight will be technologies aimed at reducing energy and water consumption, an area where Italian manufacturers have invested heavily. This aligns with the global textile industry’s growing focus on circular manufacturing and eco-friendly production models. As Salvadè notes, “Italian manufacturers are committed to combining the country’s deep-rooted textile expertise with cutting-edge innovation that drives sustainability.”
Italy’s Global Leadership in Textile Machinery

The Italian textile machinery industry continues to hold a commanding position globally, driven by its strong international outlook. With 86% of its total production, valued at around 2.1 billion euros, exported worldwide, Italy remains one of the top exporters of textile technology.
Giorgio Calveri, Director of ITA Singapore, highlighted that ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025 provides a key opportunity to consolidate Italy’s presence in Asia. “This exhibition allows Italy to showcase its leadership as a trusted partner for advanced, sustainable, and competitive technologies,” he said. “With the support of ACIMIT and ITA, the participation of 100 exhibitors underlines the strength and commitment of Italy’s textile machinery sector.”
A Shared Vision for the Future of Textiles
The Italian delegation’s participation at ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025 goes beyond showcasing machinery; it represents a shared vision for the future of textiles. In a world where digital transformation and environmental responsibility are reshaping manufacturing, Italian companies are positioning themselves as pioneers of smart, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
From integrating AI-driven systems for predictive maintenance to developing dyeing technologies that conserve resources, Italy’s contribution is helping redefine what modern textile manufacturing stands for. The upcoming exhibition is expected to attract thousands of global visitors, providing a vibrant platform for collaboration, partnership, and knowledge exchange.
As the textile world gathers in Singapore, Italy’s presence will once again demonstrate that innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainability can coexist seamlessly. With a legacy built on precision engineering and an eye firmly set on the future, the Italian textile machinery industry continues to inspire and influence the global textile narrative.
